Shopping List (Grocery List) App Reviews

I purchased years ago and my wife and I share lists. Finally did away with all the sticky notes and hand written lists. Then, in the last year they updated the app. Now the entire screen goes black when it syncs and it kicks me back to the previous list that I was in 2 or 3 times. I frequently end up adding stuff to the wrong list as a result! Extremely annoying. Plus the time spent syncing is ridiculous, as is the frequency. Went from being one of my favorite apps to one of the most annoying. Please, please, please fix the sync problems, so that I can go back to loving your app.

This app is great except that after one of the recent updates, my app syncs constantly, turning the whole screen black and making it hard to continue shopping. Its not quick, either. Until this is remedied, I cant recommend the app because it is just too frustrating to have to keep pausing and waiting for the screen to come back. Please make the syncing occur in the background on the next update!

I used this app for years and really liked it! I bought the upgraded edition, which is rare for me. My problem is the graphics. As my eyesight gets worse due to my age (40s), I found I couldnt see the list well and there was no way to enlarge it. The list choices are small, thin, and light in color. The wood with black chalkboard look has an attractive side, but doesnt have enough contrast. Got a new phone and tried a new grocery list app that I like much better (AnyList).

I just bought this app and I am having a problem with the pricing. Instead of the dollar sign $ mine has an A and it wont add my prices when I put a . between my prices for instance 1.25 it will just add the first number that is put. Has this happened to anybody and how can I fix this problem?

I love this app. If they would just change it so that it only syncs on command. The auto-sync function is very, very annoying. Especially when you are shopping. Very annoying!

While this app has a nice interface, the sharing function does not work. Writing to support is useless because they do not respond. Please remove this piece of crap from the iTunes Store.

I was very happy with the app, but when I got an iPhone 6, it quit working properly. My list will not display

My husband and I use this app all of the time. We have tried others but this is our favorite. It syncs to all of our devices so we both have the most up-to-date list. I love that it stores items that Ive purchased before so that I dont have to re-type them every time. It also allows us to make categories and put them in the same order as our grocery store. Its easy to use and well-organized.

Works just as advertised. Use it every time I go to the store.

I love the fact that I am able to categorize items by the stores I go to!

And I am an app kermudgin. Use it alot. Wife updates while Im on way to stores. Default lists and storing previously entered items useful. Definitely helpful.

Great shopping list app. Having used several apps that provide so many bells & whistles that they eventually get to be annoying, this app is simple, easy to use, and more than adequate for creating and using a shopping list. The only feature that would enhance this app would be the ability to store a photo of a product in the list item.

Update: the developers are no longer supporting this app. It has been 3 years since the last update. There are issues with newer phones and operating systems. It constantly syncs, to the point you cannot even use the list to shop. It syncs about every 10 seconds and the entire screen goes black every time. It also does not fit the iPhone 6s. The aspect ratio is distorted and there is a wide black banner at the top and bottom of the screen. I emailed support but have gotten NO response. I am disappointed since I paid for this app. I have found another list app to use. I liked the free version, but love the purchased version. I can sort it according to my stores, set up lists for different stores or events (ie birthday party). I seem to stick to my list better. It is easy to add an item as soon as I open the last of something since my phone is almost always with in reach. I also like that I can delete just the items I purchased and keep the others on the list for next time.

At first we liked this app. It seemed useful. As we started to add more items we noticed that we were unable to keep them in alphabetical order. We tried everything, to no avail. We even sent an email to the head of the company in Germany...no answer. We finally found grocery IQ and it resolves all the issues we had with this app.

I like it. Easy to use.

Good app. Misleading. Cannot share app with family. Whats the purpose of syncing a list if you cant share app? Can I have my money back please?

This app used to be good, I dont know what they did in the last year but its now a nightmare. When it syncs the entire screen goes black and if are in a no signal zone (which my grocery store is) it goes black until it realises it has no signal - which can be 5 minutes or so. I cant believe I paid for this, I want a refund. Do not buy this app. In theory its great. The syncing is a mess.

Loved this app for years. Then in iOS 9 on the iPhone version the app always wants to sync... the developer has made no attempt to fix this common problem. In fact their have been no bug fixes since 2013.... shame because the app was so well thought out

I like that it syncs so I can use my phone or my tablet to add items. It took me a while to navigate away from paper lists but Im beginning to use it and find it simplifies my life... I used to get to the store without my list but its second nature to grab my phone!

I was so happy when the black bar at the top disappeared after 9.2 or 9.3. Now, iOS 10 has brought it back. What did Apple do????
