Shopping List (Grocery List) App Reviews

The most important reasons we continue to use this app are that 1) it synchronises well between members of our family, and 2) we payed for it. We also appreciate that items previously entered remain in the system, that one can add lists of various title, and that one can add various categories! Frustrating issues are that 1) there are continuing empty, black spaces on top and bottom of the screen, meaning that there is a smaller area of actual list showing; and 2) that one cannot simply move an item from one list to another, but must actually delete the item from one list, then add it to another; and 3) that the synchronisation happens so often as to be extremely annoying. Improvements would be very appreciated!

Just started using this and Ive already found two things to be pretty annoying. The first is that this app does not allow family sharing. BOOOOO!!! The description says that you can sync with other family members so everyone can see the updated lists but they do not tell you that EACH FAMILY MEMBER HAS TO PURCHASE THE APP SEPARATELY and then all log in using the same account number/password. I would not have bothered purchasing this app if I had realized family sharing was not allowed. The second thing was also mentioned by some other reviewers. I wish the lists actually worked in the reverse order. In other words, you have a core list of things that you typically buy from each store and you check those items off (or somehow highlights) when you need them. Once purchased you would then deselect the items and your core list for that store would still be there every time and you wouldnt have to go in and select the items each time. There are certain things that I only buy at Costco or Walmart or Target and it would be much more helpful to have a separate list for each store. I looked at other shopping list apps and not one of them works this way, which I find surprising as it seems there are others out there who want a list that works this way. But seriously... No family sharing??? Come on guys!!!

I use this app all of the time. As I think of things I just add it. I can set my own categories to fit my favorite most used store layout. Downside, when getting a new phone or if you have to do a massive reset, it doesnt keep your category as you have had it set up. Ive had this app for probably 5 years or so and have had to recreate it probably 3 or so times. Kind if aggravating. Also I used to be able to have it synced with other family members. As they thought of things they could add it to my list. Havent been able to do that for a couple of years, so I dont know if that is something that was changed during an update or a feature that I havent remembered how to do. Overall it is an awesome app, kind that I use daily!

Never received my email to setup my family to sync our list. Emailed support with no response. About to call iTunes for a refund. Like the app, but disappointed in service.

I use this app constantly! Its basic and reliable and works fine. It would be nice to have a Copy to Different List and a Move to Different List features. I keep a list of sundries so itd be nice to be able to check things off and copy them to the current list or move them when I enter items into the wrong list.

The app is just as useful as it was when I bought it several years ago, but it hasnt been updated for awhile. It looks great on a smaller iPhone, but it will look really weird on the 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch iPhones.

Format it so it fills the entire screen. I have an iPhone 6 and the app does not fill the entire screen. It would make it a better experience.

Syncs too often, very troublesome when in the store shopping.

Okay, obviously the developers arent listening to these reviews. Yes, there is the annoying sync issue - the one where the screen goes black during sync and you have to wait for it to finish. Here is the workaround. Double tap your home button and swipe the app out of memory. Relaunch it. You wont get the black screen issue for some period of time and it will work fine for a bit. As a developer, I suspect the root cause is how it is dealing with backgrounding in iOS 9. It obviously hasnt been updated since the update 6 months ago.

This app hasnt seen an update in years... Im so glad theyre still making money off of it and no longer providing support and updates!

Add an option to sort alphabetically so you dont have to hunt for an item! Appears that this request was made previously on August 18, 2015 by another user. Do you ever read these reviews and act on them? You have the start of a rudimentary product that might be really useful if you could devote a little development time to it. Should that happen Id be more than glad to add more stars to my review. P. S. Im thinking of buying an Apple and developing my own app to replace yours.

Best Shopping List app Ive seen, but needs to add the features listed below. I would gladly pay for another upgrade if they were included. 1) Allow each list to have individual & separate Categories. 2) Make Auto Syncing & Forced Manual Syncing selectable. 3) Allow move/copy of items between lists. 4) Allow Categories to be moved within each list. 5) Allow the Lists order to be adjustable. 4 Stars now with hopes of High-5 stars soon.

I have used this app for over a couple of years now and used to absolutely love it. Now it has issues with the constant syncing and the lag of it. After realizing the last update was December 2013, Im guessing the designer has lost interest. If this is the case, please sell it. It was and could be a 5-star app again with an update. And one suggestion, I would love to be able to have the scanning ability to add an item.

I actually think this is a great app. My only problem is I never received the activation email in order to access the list from my iPad to the iPhone. I have four times contacted hensoft on their website asking for them to send or resend (if necessary) the activation email. Never received a reply. So although I enter on my iPad I cant access on the iPhone. Sorry I dont take my iPad grocery shopping. About ready to complain and ask for the $2.99 to be credited back to me.

I put items in order in categories based on the way Gro stores are set up, fruits first, then cans, etc. Saves time. I love that it updates my list when he goes grocery shopping and checks things off on his phone. Have to use more apps to make my life more efficient!

Its 3 OS behind(2013). Every minute it syncs and the screen turns black. Dont buy it until they update.

As I go through life as a busy mom of three, I often remember an item to add to my grocery list and often forget to write it down, I can now just easily add that item in my app and go on with tiny kid wrangling and be sure I wont forget that item when I shop. I can also create a list and email it to my hubby for accurate grocery retrieval (love the note section on each entry) since he is a droid user and he dislikes apps. When my mom offers to go to the grocery store for me we can sync iPhone apps and she has the list quickly across town. Love this app!

A good way to keep track of not only your food shopping list, but because its customizable, you can create and add to your own personal lists. I created several, one for different stores. Overall, Im happy with it and would recommend it.

This app works so well for my husband and I to add to a shared list and then either of us can shop at any time. It also keeps us from backtracking in the store. My one complaint is that it constantly syncs, and when syncing, the screen goes black and I cant continue what I was doing until the sync has completed. Please fix this bug!!

Very useful: I enter all items into my "master" shopping list & then just move them to my Grocery list or Costco list when needed.
